I'm a huge fan, and it seems to be finding commercial success[1]. What it does well for me is preserve kubernetes concepts, but expose them in a way that's easier to manage from an admin standpoint. I learned kube through OpenShift - and was able to ramp up quickly enough to manage our internal application as an engineer.
