My ISP feels it is 'reasonable' to charge $10\month for one. $10 x 4B x 12 months would solve the national debt in just a few years...

I switched to ZenDesk when it became too much to manage requests in GMail. It works fine, but I noticed a drop off in user engagement which I think was due to the more 'formal' looking way support tickets appeared. When I was just respondi

I did exactly the same thing -- was looking at boottheme and wondering how to generate something other than the default. Never occurred to me to wonder what the dice icon did.

Interesting -- but doesn't all that work to remove the 300ms delay mean make the site totally broken on any browser that doesn't generate touchstart/touchend/touchmove events? I guess you could code around this by catching the click event a

Conventional wisdom would be to install conduit in the walls and leave installing the actual fiber until you are planning on using it.

Intel's VTune will measure TLB misses, along with many many other detailed CPU/cache/memory diagnostics and is a great tool to identify these types of issues.

Just started up try using filepicker.io and it seems to be down too. Beginning to feel pretty lucky though -- this is at least the 4th AWS-East outage that has made enough of a splash to notice but missed my instances. Upgrading to multipl

Looks very feature rich ... but to be honest the aesthetics need work. A huge part of this space relates to appearance obviously and the sample dashboards just don't look as polished as the competitors, even if they offer more widgets and

Often the most productive hour of my day design-wise is the hour long run at lunchtime. Not only that it makes the afternoon far more productive too as I am much more awake than if I skip it.

I like the new look. I've used DDG as a default search engine on my main computer for several months now and kept Google on others. Recently I've noticed that I am consistently missing some of DDG's features when still using Google so it m

The speed of the request is probably not linear with the size either. At 700-800 bytes for an average HTTP request you are below the single packet size. Given the overhead of processing the packet the extra bytes are pretty cheap: a 1 byte

Greengoose looks interesting, but I've just read every page I could find on their site (3 mins?) and still don't understand exactly what the 'sensors' are and what they can 'sense'. How does a sensors tell if I've fed the dog today?

Intel & HP tried this with the Itanium. A decade (or two) and billions of dollars later and x86 or at least x64 is still king. No doubt they made some mistakes, but it wasn't for lack of trying. (And having debugged code on an ia64 I'm

Getting on a plane would be a fairly common use case, and independent of the 'power' level of the user. Disclaimer: I don't own an iOS device, so don't know how intuitive it might or might not be.
