Interesting. I work in an area that I really enjoy (movies) as I consume the end product, and feels like I'm doing something to improve people's life. Of course there's many issues with the industry and whatnot, but still fee

Was there any industries that you cared about and could apply tech to? That's usually a good way to go about it, instead of chasing money/profits. For example: Clean energy, a non profit, etc.

One of the systems I work with just re-hired the original developer now that he retired. The software is around 20 years old and the guy is working for fun. It's actually quite interesting to see haha, the system is the core of a large

This already exists. I forgot the name of it but there's a big one in Vancouver I dealt with recently when getting an offer, they deal with everything for you and have quite a few companies as clients.

Yes! Same here. Not just coworkers but people in general, e.g: other departments of the company to be unblocked or more efficient. And not only that but the industry at large :-) Anyho. I guess we're all co-workers.

That math changes a lot in companies that don’t sell tech as their profits margin aren’t as fat. It also changes when you have 1000s of developers.

This is a good post. As usual it's a question of trade offs. Hashicorp can be quite pricey for a managed vault instance if you have a decent site and salaries for engineers to maintain an on prems vault can also be pricey. Depending on

Jenkins can work quite well for this. It keeps logs, success/failure, has hooks for multiple notifications and etc.
