CS major at a state school here. I got to skip 2 semesters of calculus based on my 5 in AP Calc BC. But yeah I’m kind of ticked off that these virtualized exams (which are trivial to cheat on) are being counted for college credit.

How many windows/tabs do you have open? I often have two WebStorm/IntelliJ windows, VSCode, a dozen Chrome tabs, and at least one Electron application open (usually Slack) and it's not too bad on the CPU.
