Losing breakpoints? Why would they lose breakpoints? Maybe I misunderstand but you can debug JavaScript with breakpoints.

Not watching a dog get shot. Sorry, not on my schedule of events today or ever. I also don't watch beheading videos from mid east or chechnia.

Maybe it's surprising because the iPad does not run flash.

Those kinds of clauses are illegal in states like California and Arizona. You or your employer can terminate your relationship at any moment without cause. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/At-will_employment

What kind of specific improvements are they making to the JavaScript engine that is leading to such dramatic speed increases?

It's $80,000 for a 3-node machine running the software, and what, you're looking for a Guaranteed Paypal merchant button or something?

The only app I miss from my iPhone is Amazon Kindle. I really hope they make an android version soon.

I see, was it easy to install the software you used to play H.264 on Linux? Did it come out of the box with the Linux distro you were using? Maybe I shouldn't have used 'buggy.' I certainly wasn't trying to contribute to FUD, just compiling

Look at the source of what dojo.hitch does or google.bind. It is the exact same thing. Whoever down-voted me obviously doesn't know JavaScript. Voting on comments is such a dumb idea. Popularity does not equal right. Right is simply right.

What is 'call' doing in that function? Check out dojo.hitch: http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=en#1oUPVh-C1Wg/trunk/e...

This is simply bind which will be in future versions of JavaScript. http://ejohn.org/blog/ecmascript-5-strict-mode-json-and-more... It has been available in dojo as dojo.hitch, goog.bind, $.hitch in a jQuery plugin.

Well a hitch or bind function delivers more than just ability to create quick closures. It lets you define the functionality you want in a named function, allowing for code re-use and more readable code. Also I'm obviously not using the lib

I don't think using JavaScript to fix something CSS can't do is the proper solution. I think to draw a static width box around the variable width items or just not worrying about the flush on both sides (something you can accomplish with CS

The closure section needs work. My closures never look like that. I have functions that return functions to create my closures, usually via a library via dojo.hitch, $.hitch, or goog.bind.

I wish it discussed more about how it works. I looked over that page and the Oni site and without downloading the code and looking at it I didn't see any way to understand what it is actually doing.

I care about REST because I remember SOAP and I am very happy that REST mostly won that war, at least in the public API space. I suppose there's something to his article about diverging from the idea of resource definitions but I hope that
