The difference is that people (usually implicitly, sometimes explicitly) consent to some topics and not others. Most tabletop roleplaying groups have an understanding about what topics and behavior are appropriate with that group. There are

Did your clients have their employees pee in bottles as a de-facto company policy? Is that the sort of thing that just tends to happen as companies scale?

What is a "HN-level hacker"? I write code for a living and I read news on this website. Do I count? I'm an apple "consumer" because I don't want to think about any hardware gotchas when I'm trying to do my

One suggestion to avoid being a "social score" is to 1) Make the score private 2) Avoid numbers/points Maybe use thumbs up/down instead and have approximate scores?

A contradiction is when two things both can't be true. Not just when things are unlikely to be true. It would be a contradiction if people only ended up in prison because they wanted to go. In reality many people commit crimes for othe

I'm responding to a user who described having to learn a text editor as suffering. I'm not sure how your response relates to mine. I happen to be a person who uses a fancy keyboard (Kinesis Advantage2) and text editor (vim) to red

Yeah, I guess that is it. The existence of the vegan is a moral judgement of everyone else's food choices, so they get hate. The existence of the vim user reminds you of that one time you gave it a shot and it didn't stick, so it

vim generally doesn't need any of those fuzzy file finders that most people use. If you add set path+=** to your vimrc, and open vim from the top level directory for your project :find <unique_filename_part> will just work
