Just because it's GC'd doesn't mean it's constantly allocating memory. Optimizing the most common heap allocation sources isn't very difficult (especially compared to the nightmare of manual memory management). I re

Everything except capitalism is theft. In a free market every good exchange is voluntary - made because both parties have decided they're slightly better off with it (else, they wouldn't participate). Therefore, everything but

Exchanges don't keep a real BTC wallet for each user. When one Coinbase user sends funds to another, the transaction is entirely virtual (which lets them avoid paying the network transaction fee).

Depending on where you're from, marriage before sex might be the culturally-enforced default. Enabling weed even more so, which is unfortunate in general, but probably a healthy approach when it comes to kids.

This probably feels more unusual in the world of shell-based development tools - not many these days blink an eye for this sort of behaviour from an IDE package. Still, as a .NET core fan, definitely not a fan of this practice. To be expect

What drives me mad on mobile is the headers that expand/collapse depending on whether you're scrolling up or down, except without any hysteresis which makes them randomly activate as I scroll down. This, combined with the addition

Market-based solutions? Nonsense! Let's all just accuse and shun and sue each other into oblivion, because that's a healthy way for a society to function.

Yet it's considered perfectly PC to create companies that hire exclusively women or organize black-only university events. Similarly, Infosys hired a large amount of minority group workers. Whether this is racist or empowering is a mat

My favorite taunt from the .NET team: according to the .NET Reference Source, built-in numeric types implement an IArithmetic<T> interface... And then they comment it out. http://referencesource.microsoft.com/#mscorlib

Crime isn't really a big factor, I think (maybe excluding weird failed states and countries that are at war) and work force is easy to train if you can afford the initial investment. Low taxes + low bureaucracy go a long way.

The developers of Signal and similar privacy-oriented apps will probably rather shut down than compromise the security of the app. As long as at least one secure app remains, the policy is pointless. And even then there's other ways to
