It appears they want Open Graph to be used in response to user actions that are explicit and specific to Facebook, rather than behind-the-scenes aggregation or polling of any sort that keeps your data in sync with other services. Quite a fi

You might be thinking of Boris Wertz, who joined Bootup's board around when their the cohort downsizing story hit last month. Boris Mann's presence was definitely a positive for Bootup, but not the only one.

Indeed. Normally when a person or company makes a highly visible mistake they make sure it doesn't happen again. I think that Danny's defensiveness was a lot of what fueled the bad PR, since it drove expectations that this could happen agai

They don't mention Tweetie for Mac, but I imagine that will become free too. Clearly the Mac client wasn't the focus of the acquisition, but it's also great software in my opinion.

Hey John, sorry I missed this comment when you first posted it. @mentions are not counted if they are @replies for the reason you suggest. The repetition of table headers is a good idea, though, thanks!

I've never experimented with that boundary. Publicly criticizing your employer is unwise and unprofessional no matter who you work for. I don't imagine there are many Fortune 500 companies where you would last very long doing that.

Of course we aren't. Plenty of Apple employees blog about things other than their jobs.

I considered that - right now they're just penalized as normal @mentions. I'm not sure if ". @steve Going to the grocery store now!" is much worse than "Going to the grocery store now, @steve!" I've also considered extra-penalizing manual "

I absolutely agree. This tool doesn't help you increase your signal to noise ratio, which should be the real goal. That's why I recently built this: http://www.unladenfollow.com/ Unladen Follow suggests people to unfollow based on how no

I think the big deal about IE9 is the major improvement in Javascript performance. Given that, emulating some of the various web standards IE lacks using Javascript will become more practical.

The oddest thing about Buzz was that it's automatically following everybody I've ever conversed with using GMail, whether or not I know them. They successfully avoided the "nobody's here" problem that Wave had, but by opting in everybody wh

I like Friedisms so far because rather than being mean, they're just light-hearted exaggerations of Fried's idiosyncrasies. It's funny since what he says can be formulaic, but it still rings true in a silly way. Fake Steve is often that way

A email spam tool could be justified this way. "You despise sending email. But a lot of others don't. This tool is for them. Of course - you can't make a tool that makes everyone happy. And people who despise getting spam are not the target
