Maybe the trick is to get people to make you money without them knowing that they are working for you. What if freerice.com was for profit?

It's a version 1 for sure, in terms of features, but there are definitely enough features for most, as well as a universal profile that can be used across the growing network of TypePad motion powered websites, TypePad Connect'd blogs, etc.

Are goroutines really that lightweight that this could handle thousands of simultaneous connections? If so, go is even cooler than I thought. If not, is there epoll/kqueue support yet?

I agree, but his example is strong. While calculating something every time the mouse moves would be expensive and memoization is probably a good idea, the mouse pointer in most situations has some locality, and so some LRU cache is probably

As soon as I got to the channels portion of the tutorial, I knew it was Rob Pike's baby. He did a tech talk a while ago about parallel languages, which was very interesting http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=810232012617965344&#... E

While I don't appreciate the tone of your comment, I have to agree. Seeing a short URL instead of a long URL with a slug co containing some context is welcome. I'll save my surprises for birthdays, thanks.

Good read. However, I was curious about Listia (it was familiar but I couldn't remember exactly). Anyway, the point is, I didn't find a link back to listia.com to click on, on either the posterous blog, or their twitter account. Seems like

Yes. Linux is a kernel, and you don't have to use a traditional GNU userland with it. Maybe I'm missing something, as I'm not too familiar with android, but I thought that android apps were compiled to Dalvik, which is Java based? I fail to
