Developers creating user experiences that don't actually take in to account what the user needs to achieve as tasks many many times a day are entirely the reason we now have UX people.

They are not a crime because the representatives of the elite wrote the tax code in the USA. Let's be honest here.

Great post. I'm curious what other self-employed people are doing. My typical work week the last 5-7 years is 15-20 hours on 2-3 projects of typical 3-month duration. I turn down A LOT of projects. I an a hybrid consulting analyst/

If you are struggling financially who cares if you are paying an extra $10 a month to rent-to-own an $800 phone? That sort of shit is just more judgemental dog whistling.

But how is that any different than saying in 1918 a car was a want but in 1950 a car was a requirement for many people? I suspect that the answer to these types of questions is that most people don't want to admit how mind-fucked we al

Did you and I grow up in the same country? The entire puritan work effort is based on this premise in some way or another. The more religious you are the more you appear to believe your wealth is a god-given right and that everyone else is

Yes and no. Depends on your seniority and where you live to some degree. I was pretty burnt out at 28 after a year that included things like a 110 hour work week. At the time I couldn't afford 6 months or a year off. I did take a year

I did. I took almost a year off. It cost me about $35k in 2005 USD. I was really burnt out. But I'm not sure that taking the time did anything for me. I was a little stressed about the "unknown" the whole time and I mostly wi

That is a way more optimistic outlook than I have had for the last 15 or so years. I sincerely appreciate your response and outlook. Not sure if I agree or disagree but, that's just my opinion, man. :)

One of the US political parties has had their strategists admit that several of their policies are racist, and that their communication strategy foments and encourages racism. This is not news, it's been publicly out there for decades.

Do you not feel it naive to assume that those that currently hold the vast majority of wealth and power won't continue to do so and exploit the rest of us? I mean, they will own all the AI's, right?
