As of a few minutes ago the project now has an MIT license. So that clears that up! https://github.com/chrisdickinson/git-rs/blob/master/LICENSE...

In Jordan the Uber cars I've used are always cleaner than Careems. The Careem app also used to send me annoying notifications about deals.

Oh. So that's what they meant by "variables support" in the ssl directives. I didn't realize the significance of that change when I read the changelog earlier today.

Super cool. This and the Python-based subtitle downloader subliminal make working with subtitles really easy. I had previously relied on incremental fudging of times using trial and error with www.sync-subtitles.com.

It's news to me! I was maintaining the libpod package on AUR and I just saw the deletion request now. Happy it's in community now, but would have been nice to hear before it got deleted from AUR! Might also want to delete cni-plug

Post is about JMAP (Fastmail's IMAP/SMTP replacement), by the author of a newish webmail client called Cypht that has just recently implemented support for JMAP. Cool! Keep going! https://cypht.org/

It wasn't obvious to me immediately, but the hostname of Google's DNS-over-TLS servers is: dns.google This is important for validating the TLS certificate that is provided by their servers on 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (equivalent to req

Cool. I wish there was an option to specify which trust stores to install to, for example only to Firefox's. The current default is to install in system (requires sudo), Chrome (which I don't use), and Firefox trust stores.

I also donated today after reading their 2019 post. I've relied on Thunderbird for years. Having an independent, open source, and cross-platform email client with no vendor lock-in is important to me.

For one project I keep notes in a git repository so I can grep them for stuff later. At the beginning of every month I create a 2018-11.md or whatever and keep the notes going there all month. For another project I keep notes in a wiki. It&

I want to own my own content, servers, domains, etc... it's not even about Google specifically being evil—we gotta stop outsourcing stuff to people providing it to us for "free."

Hugo has gotten very confusing as it has become more powerful. They are moving so fast and people are doing crazy stuff with it now! As the maintainer of a simple Hugo theme and a few simple blogs I can hardly keep up.

Interesting! From a related discussion in 2017 on the bbr-dev mailing list: BBR will run well with fq_codel only after linux-4.13 (not yet released) Before linux-4.13, BBR _needs_ fq packet scheduler. fq is not fq_codel. See:
