Thinking about it, they may be talking about readership rather than sales. People can pass around a paper in the break room or family members may read the same paper. I'm not sure how well they can estimate those numbers though. Sale

I'm sorry, but that's absolute rubbish. I rarely post on HN, but I feel compelled to do so here. Thanks for this, you should post more, a community is only as good as its active members.

The Sun has consistently been the biggest daily in the UK for a long time, and I would suggest at least some of the parties have a majority buying that paper, historically the Mirror which comes in 3rd would be considered a more leftist pap

You don't seem like an idiot but all your comments in this thread seem to be making the same obvious error. "Being raised in poverty" is a broad term that means all kinds of things, you seem to think it is merely a measure of

These aren't politicians they're staffers. Many people enter the political realm to affect policy change. Many of these people are driven by a desire to do good. You are painting with too broad a brush and your comment doesn&#x

Apparently Clapper is lying about lying too[1]. According to Wyden[2], the question he asked was actually given to Clapper in advance so the idea that Clapper didn't understand exactly what Wyden was referring to seems like a load of

Correct, on re-reading the article the $23m is the value offered for HR training, which is apparently somehow equivalent to the value of the economic benefit Ecuador gains from the agreement - so presumably they already did the relevant mat
