You can invert the question: What is the advantage of having updates in most industrial systems?

Did you copy the whole line as "g ssh -v -T git@github.com 2>&1 | grep "Roaming debug1: Roaming not allowed by server"" ? I misread GP's command and made that mistake. The correct command is : ssh -v -T git@g

To be fair the GIL is only an issue if you are doing CPU bound thread-based parallelism in Python. There are way to do real parallelism in Python, for example via several processes.

I think he meant that clang won't be targeting XP systems anymore, even when cross compilling.

I would say your 5000 USD for the tooling seem pretty low to me for a steel mold (as opposed to a "soft" aluminium mold). They can easily cost 5-10x more if you factor in mold development.

If you combine this with a bit of numerical post processing and some calibration with a laser pointer you can get a pretty precise result. We did this in university, it was fun :)

What does the `accuracy` measurement on your benchmarks show ? How did you estimate max transmit distance of 50m. I know I am pretty negative but to me once you reach this level of complexity in your applications it is time to move on to mi

The amount of libraries working on Python 2 only is really small and not a problem for a lot of us: http://py3readiness.org/ The syntax is really nicer IMHO. Unicode strings are really nice to have too. Plus Python 2.x will

I did not know that ChibiOS was funded by ST. I thought they only worked on FreeRTOS (CHibiOS is not limited to ST's MCUs).

Even assuming the existing code is high quality, there is still a lot of problems with pointer ownership and type checking which Rust removes. Personally I think the best way is to wrap existing C code into higher level, safer Rust APIs.

In my opinion Arduino Due are overrated. They are pricey, their processor isn't really top-tier and you don't get a builtin JTAG probe for debugging (I think). You should try ST's discovery/nucleo boards. Much cheaper an

A lot of automotive manufacturers are migrating to FlexRay ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlexRay ) and Ethernet so hopefully they will use the extra bandwith to implement a bit more of message authentication to their p

One way to make the integral term useful would be to add some static friction to the simulation, that would be interesting.
