"Gets the stupid work done so you can actually make something." I really like that line. I hate boilerplates in general but that line just draws me in to use it.

I think this article pretty much shakes all the confidence in Github and for several (good) reasons: Whenever a new CEO steps in and starts making big changes like that to the company, it usually results in big changes in the product. Where

yeah but it's paid, needs internet access, and requires some sort of setup. Plus, most OS X devs would do this ONLY for IE. Which is a barrier of entry. Downloading and installing IE browser on OSX is a much better solution. And this w

I've always wanted to put my finger on how futurism evolved. This summarizes it pretty well. I wonder what the next shift will be?

OS X. I don't use it but I think it'd have great value. I often hear engineers talk about how they don't want to work with IE because they have to boot up a VM to use it. So...they don't even test it, they know nothing a

this is such a good point. I was running on the same version, then I upgraded to 0.10, 0.11, and finally 0.12 and run test on ioJS. There were no major changes to be made. I think I'll just add Node 5.0 to CI and see if it passes and t

You're right. Doesn't mean there is a general stigma against doing so, is generally frowned upon, and can put you into a position to be fired because of "something completely unrelated but yes, totally related"

This is definitely a hard lesson to learn for many. Recruiters often cite that it's a routine question. But just because it is, doesn't mean you should answer it. I've seen some recruiters straight up refuse to work with me w

This was announced directly from Scaleway and was a pretty popular thread here on HN, why is an article about it on here again and just as popular?

My first week at a new job, half the company got let go. And a few months later, it got slashed even further. I don't have the specific numbers but at the end of the year, we went from over 200 to about 80ish. (I hope I got the numbers
