When? What release of Windows, and what games? I’ve been PC gaming and consuming video game media since before Win 3.1 at a level where it wouldn’t be under the radar if it was an ‘era’ where this was the regular thing to do. Are you absolu

I have Airpods Pro and they provide some physical sound dampening, but the noise cancellation only works on rumbly white noise, not things like talking or eating noises. It can actually make talking seem louder by cancelling out the backgro

If the main reason you’re making me write a cover letter is to verify that I am human and know what the job description said, you don’t deserve anything better than LLM generated.

If they actually proofread or edit it, how are you going to know? How is it any worse than some job coach formulaically writing it based on the job description and resume? Cover letters are ignored all the time, and generally just serve to

I have ordered furniture from a catalog that took months to arrive, due to importing delays. They would have gladly given me my money back at any point. I just wouldn’t have decent furniture at a decent price I wanted.

The underpinning of the story is algorithmic, as mentioned elsewhere by others, Calvino was in Oulipo which existed to explore algorithmic art. Here’s a chart someone made: https://www.deviantart.com/monkeelino/art/

The works of Calvino (as translated by William Weaver) are what I read and reread the most these days. I have far too much to say about them than could ever fit in an HN post, but: For the HN crowd, I recommend The Night Driver, a short sto

Check out Lost Cities with Albert Lin if you want to see some of this stuff being done and previous discoveries. It feels a little docu-dramatized but neat nonetheless.

Sony had a pretty solid hold on a chunk of that DSLR prosumer/enthusiast market as well. Fuji and some others started making headway right before mirrorless started taking off.
