Is the Hitler story true? Wikipedia says that he got the idea in London, where he filed a patent (!) for the fission chain reaction. Here's the link to his patent, btw: http://v3.espacenet.com/publicationDetails/biblio?CC=GB&...

It is an interesting app and I think a lot of twitter developers will find it useful. On the UI side you need to rethink things. Twitter apps tend to be on the really well polished side, and your site is lacking here. There are lots of diff

Same here. But I think that is the idea - to let the comments speak for themselves and let the comments sink or swim on their own merits.

That's an interesting insight but it goes too far. For example, Mint.com/Intuit and Facebook can survive independent of Google.

It is like a safe harbor provision. If you exclude processed foods and grains, then you are in a relatively safe place food-wise, though not perfectly safe of course. If you do eat processed foods, then you take your chances or you must spe

The 140 character feature is definitely an execution issue and not an idea issue. It wasn't part of the original design, they iterated their way to that. "@Jack was still just an engineer, and the service was only a few months old when the

Thanks for pointing that out, I missed it the first time. See it here: http://www.techcrunch.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/73.png

More interesting than how they got thier names is what these companies were doing before their names got famous. For example on this list there are decendants from a pulp mill, dried fish exporter, and a playing card maker.

I've read the book, as well as Influence. Influence is a far stronger book because it does a better job of describing the theoretical underpinnings of why the 50 tricks work. Some of the tricks are really narrow and so they aren't all that

Is that really a win though? Your friend is out two years worth of income + considerable debt to make an extra 35K after two years.

You can get free wifi at starbucks without any AT&T setup at home. The steps: - buy a starbucks gift card ($5 minimum) - register the giftcard online - use the registration info when prompted when you connect to the network at SBUX. - y

I'm not sure this is the case, because yesterday I did all of the updates that Apple advised, but I didn't get Safari 4 with that. Today I manually downloaded it. For what it's worth, it is significantly faster than Safari 3.

I'd consider giving it up / a trade for a worthy cause. I like having the trifecta, but what would I put there that I wouldn't put on idoh.com instead?

The UI needs some work. The Viget Labs page looks really slick, so whoever did that should take a crack at crowdmind. I won't sign in to sketchy looking websites, even if it is with OpenID.

I'm getting into scheme for a project I'm working on. Sometimes I'm really impressed by how much can be done with some tight coding. I've done some Arc coding as well, and I think that it could have the edge if it matures and gets some libr

Happens to me too. I've found that having a collaborator really helps to get things done, because I don't want to let them down. I'm almost at the point where I won't start projects unless I have a collaborator. Maybe the next step is to ha
