Also, he basically destroyed the Ents. That was my favorite part of the book ("You have angered an elder power. The elder power hits you. You die.") Instead we get Treebeard being basically a dummy sidekick for the hobbits, who realises lat

That book's not even by Kiyosaki, so it's a doubly random link.

That's one of the other ways to get a good price. Figure out what you want, what options, etc. and ring around all the local dealers "I'm going to buy this car at the end of next week, lowest price gets it." Haven't tried it myself, but app

Why save it just for christmas? ;) ESR telling people how to be hackers is pretty galling when you consider what a massive pile of bugs it is/was. For my money, getmail ( http://pyropus.ca/software/getmail/ ) is far better value.

And what's a "bullshit excuse"? I don't think you'll find an easy criteria for that, either. Is "someone else's happiness" a bullshit excuse?

I'm not sure that I see your point. Adding extra bits is more work for the legal team, and might lead to 'bugs', but a clause like this is going to lead to pissed off engineers who might leave. To further mangle the analogy, what if I relea

So? Contracts should be as close to your agreement as possible, and be within city/state/federal laws. If your contract isn't accurate, it's like programming by hammering some shoddy crap together and letting the testers/users sort it out.

In this particular case though, there's not a lot of complexity or nuance, is there? It's a blanket "We own all your IP" clause in a contract.

The other factor is environment. High stress environments are a killer. Reading The Programmer's Stone ( http://the-programmers-stone.com/about/ ) was a real eye opener for me in terms of mental state and what was possible if given enough

Isn't the ORM a core part of your system? Why are tests for it in /addons/? http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~openerp/openobject-server/trunk... doesn't seem to have a /base/ subdirectory either. Here's what I can find: 5000+ lines of ORM code

Except that it's not that easy. Your body will conserve energy if you're hungry, making you feel colder and more lethargic. If you go without a sweater, you'll burn more calories and end up eating more.

If you're used to burning carbs sure, since you'll have high insulin levels. It takes time to build up to the point where you're able to burn fat easily. http://www.endurancecorner.com/Fat_Burning_Essentials2 http://triathlon.competitor.

Hmm, well that's not how we played it - the cards incremented, not numbers themselves. The rules went something like: when you play 'X', then all cards are incremented by 1. Kings are 13 and wrap around to Ace, which is 1. The second rule w
