I'm a photography hobbyist, definitely prefer monochrome to color. Nope, won't call it an improvement. And obviously we naturally see in color, so monochrome means deliberately deleting some informations. But that's how I usu

I'm still a happy Evernote subscriber since a few years ago. When Galaxy Notes were my main phones, lots of my (handwriting) notes are stored in it. Nevertheless, I'm still looking for open source alternative. Evernote is certainl

I learnt a bit Haskell many years ago as undergrad student, and would like to do it again. Perhaps it's just my impression, or it's generally true that there's not much efforts popularising Haskell for system programming (OS

Being able to code in your phone is fun... although as a native Android developer this won't replace Android Studio for me (yes bloated/resource hungry bla bla bla... I know). Anyway, let's give it a try: Typing "$ ls -l

I assume folks who write optimised Rust have some experiences writing optimised C/C++... which means the domain is a bit narrow, usually microcontroller stuff, computer vision, OS kernel, etc. On the other side, I agree perhaps we don&

True. I know some photography basics, how to use DSLR/mirrorless, and even how to use handheld lightmeters. The reason we use smartphones is simplicity and convenience: take pictures of family on the beach, apply some editing (Snapseed

True. I've seen a lot of beginners (typically those who learn through various YouTube videos and a some online pagess, but not through a systematic guide like a book) having a hard time deciding "what a super simple project"

Maybe simplicity? Something that can be understood easily in a few weeks, and then you may start implementing whatever features you find useful. Oh, and Xv6 is buildable under 1 minute on modern machine, and don't need a custom-build t
