In one of my previous companies, email was used for sending source codes. Let's say I work with developer B, C, and D. And don't forget to CC other related, important persons, like team lead and manager. All of them have the record stored in inbox. P.S: of course we didn't send the source code as is. We used GPG, so only relevent persons could decrypt it.
