If life is decided by coin flips, you need to maximize the number of coin flips.

I used to think running your own local model is silly because it’s slow and expensive, but the nerfing of ChatGPT and Gemini is so aggressive it’s starting to make a lot more sense. I want the smartest model, and I don’t want to second gues

We use Microsoft at our startup because it’s so cheap - 12$ for storage, chat, Video Call, Office, email. Except the software is often pretty annoying. And even in 2025, MS will still randomly eat random files and the auto recovery still do

Well I think to make fonts like these legible, the trick is to use texts as examples that the readers already know, then you don’t really need to recognize very letter, but just the one here and there to keep up overall recognition. It also

Love this project. Back in my transit blogging days, one of the themes was short and long transfers. And here this idea immediately starts surfacing just looking at the stations - the crazy mazes with long tunnels are cool to explore on pap

It’s a very cool accomplishment. As a nerd of early shooters, I do wonder whether it’s fair to call it Doom-like. It’s clearly more untextured Wolfenstein 3d. Are we sufficiently far from 1993 to just “round” it all to being Doom-like? cert

If a family if three has a poverty limit if 26K, than this would already be beneficial for those up to a household income of 100K. Are only families with young children paying extra taxes to finance this?

It's not a "feature" when Apple decided to do it differently than everybody else, and doesn't give you an option to do it the normal way. It's just a constant reminder that Apply wants me to adapt to it, because the

Too bad the trackpad software behaves differently on MacOs than the rest of the world - when using tap-to-drag, when you release your finger, the drag doesn't get released until like a second later (and the release delay can't be

I for one think that Gemini 2.5 pro has become much more stupid than before. This isn’t for coding, just simple business type support. It keeps forgetting queries, making really obviously bad suggestions, simple mistakes etc etc. It’s kind

The hack I found to “get around” the secret limits that pop out of nowhere is to you export the chat, then import it with another account. So you don’t need to pay 200, just 40 (and only when you actually need that much).

There’s Toy Story 1-4 on there and Star Wars Force awakens, but for popular films it doesn’t have the incredibles, no Star Trek (perhaps include ii), few/no bond films (Casino Royale?), few Miyazakis (Nausicaa, Mononoke), not many Tara

Our prototypes keep getting better, and we’re assembling a team of partners for development. I think it would be great to have more partners in the team, we’re fairly open as to who, if we can make our work better.

As a startup, there are two perspectives on these kinds of issues: just get something built and running as quickly as possible, or make sure you work out the kinks. So far we've been very much doing the second. Built it, experiment on

We’re working on standard railcars, which can be running together with traditional couchettes railcars. I would argue that group travel is largely a „solved“ problem, using couchettes (railcars with cabins having 4-6 beds). For couples, the

You can run London to Europe via HS1 and tunnel, but the operating costs are insane. Anybody who propose that would get shut down by the „rail bubble“ extremely hard (like midnight trains did a couple years back). I think it would be nice,
