Mmh, compression ratio doesnt seem super high. I wonder how the values are stored, perhaps floats? Some thoughts: Maybe using yuv would be better than rgb? Maybe values could be represented as 0..1, and the values itself could be stored as

The 90s are very far away. A lot of content from 20 years ago did not age well. I watched Carmen (the Opera) yesterday, and it’s weird how much the opera has aged compared to my first seeing it 20 years ago. Like possibly more in 20 years t

GBA has a 16MHz 32-Bit Arm. The Game Boy original had a 4Mhz 8-bit cpu (but it really only ran at 1Mhz, since all instructions took a multiple of 4 clock cycles). But yes, not quite fast enough for mp3.

Arguably, the stunt is a symbol. Critizing it for also being a symbol for the inconsiderate waste of co2 budget is fair. …I mean, building a 747 in 2023 is really not a reasonable thing to do given our remaining co2 budget, even if some te

Well this admittedly cool looking stunt represents more than 5 persons worth of annual sustainable co2 budget (estimated at 3T/year), so I‘d say it’s a smidgeon above the „bare minimum for sustaining life”.

I’m not sure energy costs will go to zero soon. We need to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels, and a major component appears to be that we need to internalize the cost of co2, for example by way of taxing co2. This may result in increase
