Long distance (200-800km) passenger rail operators do make money, as long as the infrastructure is at least partially publicly financed. Which is also true for anything happening on roads.

The default setup on startup is 4 cycles for ROM access as you mention, but with system control registers you can control how fast the memory is - apparently current ROM has 3/1 wait states (first/sequential) access for 16 Bit acc

One very neat thing the interwebs are talking about is the ghiblification of family pictures. It’s actually pretty cute: https://x.com/grantslatton/status/1904631016356274286 In the coming days, people will Anime

What's also interesting is the story after 1903. The big aircraft builder today isn't the Wright Company, it's Boeing and Lockheed Martin. The Wright brothers got embroiled in patent lawsuits (in particular against Curtiss),

Possibly useful comment on local models, perhaps also fitting on machines with less ram: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43340989

Solo founders can have employees.

Wow, there's so few solo founders, and so few non-US companies. I bet nowadays, there's very few non-AI companies. So if you aren't a US-based AI-startup with multiple founders, perhaps ycombinator is not for you.

I agree a matte screen is necessary. I haven’t updated my 2013 mbp, but also not been using it for like 5 years, either. I don’t like Apple trying to upsell me just to have non-mirror screen, and the mbp is pretty heavy too. I think I’ll pa
