I suppose the concern goes something like this. Under certain metabolic conditions, each fat cell (in a region) decides it needs to be size X, and grows / shrinks accordingly. And under other conditions, each fat cell (in the same reg

I compiled that code with slight modifications (needed an actual func1 function) with a cross-compiler I had laying around into actual executables: cross g++ version 8.4.0 for aarch64: 13712 bytes native g++ version 11.3.0-3 for RV64GC: 139

That is not correct. Compressed instructions are available for 32-bit (RV32) and 64-bit (RV64). The compressed instructions differ slightly between the two though. See my other comment in this thread.

Yes and no. The GP is counting instructions , which is approximately the same between ARM64 and RV64. Others are talking about code density where RISC-V currently has a significant advantage due to compressed instructions. --------------

We had tried RAID-1 on btrfs, and the experience was not that great either. Our current systems, when they use btrfs, are on top of md (mdadm) RAID-1 arrays.

Not /u/acidburnNSA, but what was meant is that no laser is 100% efficient. Not only do they not convert 100% of their electrical input into laser energy, but they also require other support systems, notably cooling. So we need to

Perhaps I should have been clearer. Having an automated process to check out the most recent revision of the codebase and compiling it is just as easy as with other development. Doing anything with that in an automated process is usually
