Yes. If the PC support folks don't need the manual, just send it along with the monitor to the end user. Why did they need to throw the manuals away so fast?

We're dealing with fundamental limitations of I/O though, which is causing the delays. I want to write stuff to disk (SSD these days). I can issue a request, then have to wait tens to hundreds of milliseconds (in the average case,

The "spin the entire stack" was an interesting approach to staging as well. It is theoretically very simple and elegant, by just using the existing RCS thrusters for separating. It wasn't clear to me if this also obviates th

The timing for the staging is interesting. On the one hand, you want to light the Starship engines (the 2nd stage) while the SuperHeavy (1st stage) is still accelerating the entire stack. This is to keep the propellants at the bottom of the

Symbolic knowledge representation and reasoning is a quite interesting field. I think the design choices of projects like wikidata.org and CYC severely limit the application of this though. For example, on the wikidata help page, they talk

I bought a Pixel 6a earlier this year, and traded in my Pixel 3a for $150 USD off the $300 sale price. Other than the fingerprint reader being kind of terrible, it was worth it to get a new battery and OS updates for the next few years for

The final assembly, while it doesn't cost nothing, isn't that expensive. What does cost more is final testing, to make sure all the components work together. It is cheaper to do that well at the end of the assembly process before

I think this is an interesting approach. A child may collectively spend hours looking at toy blocks, to train themselves to understand how what they see maps to an object in three dimensional space. But later on, the child may see a dog for

If we are to develop understandable AGI, I think that some kind of (mathematically correct) probabilistic reasoning based on a symbolic knowledge base is the way to go. You would probably need to have some version of a Neural Net on the fro

On some monitors (more typically the older ones), the EDID is just stored in an I2C EEPROM. So it may be possible to just re-program it. I don't know what they do on newer monitors, it could just be something listening to the I2C in t

Yes, Chandrayaan-3 definitely did not performance a hoverslam, the landing was much more conservative than that. With a hoverslam, everything has to go exactly right. A valve that is slightly sticky can be enough to wreak everything.

Yes, it was a very conservative landing trajectory. But it is very, very difficult to get a hoverslam right the first time, or the second, or the third... I did like seeing the live images captured during descent, I also hope those get made

In that vein, you are probably fine with whatever version of Vim is installed by your distro. But if you want LSP support for more cutting-edge stuff (like Rust), you probably need to install the latest release of Neovim by hand, not using
