I didn't find the decision to pay-to-read an article on Blendle all that burdensome. My issues with Blendle were mostly with how it was implemented in practice. 1. Time lag. Someone links a NYT article on Reddit. Ooops! can't re

I'm exploring Rust in embedded (for fun-time projects), and there is a lot of activity across the programming spectrum. I think Rust has a good story for anyone doing multi-threaded programming and values correctness.

Seeing as how they are basing their work on a leaked (stolen) version of the TF2 source code from Valve , I don't see this project even existing for very long, much less contributing anything back to Valve.

Yes. I've created a few small things in OpenSCAD. To build up a part, I haven't found a better way than just keep adding up the width of the subcomponents to get the origin of the next piece. It is manageable for me, and I find t

We're talking about competition. Here is a previous world record solve from 2016, in about 31 moves over 4.73 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjOyaf2JKoE You don't just pick that up from a book. Optimal

It is almost the same thing. Less moves means less time to solve. I'm amazed by the performance of robots and people these days at this task.

That's actually not a bad little board. I've been laser focused on RV64, but RV32 is nearly identical. It is a shame the current VexRiscv bitstream for this board doesn't seem to support atomics though.

Hilariously, on one of the slides posted to Twitter, the phase 1 chip won't have low-speed peripherals. But I'm sure they'll include at least one serial port. No one is going to get very far without even a serial console. T

I've recently purchased a Sipeed Maix Bit, which is based on the Kendryte K210 (RV64GC dual-core), just so that I can start messing around in the RISC-V 64-bit ecosystem. However, the K210 has just 8MB of on-chip RAM, limiting the app

Yes. Molten Salt Reactors (MSR), while operating very hot, are not operating under a lot of pressure. A pressurized water reactor (PWR) does , and if there is a leak or other problem, it can turn into an explosion.
