I'm not sure what you are arguing. I'm arguing that political nihilism is a possible position, and that being a political nihilist is different than being a supporter/opponent of the status quo. Your argument seems to be that

The right tack to defending your position is not to double-down and say nihilism is impossible. How could a nihilistic take in any domain be impossible? We aren't talking about whether agnosticism and/or nihilism are unreasonable.

I switched to Neovim as a daily driver last week. The latency, at least on mac, was annoying. Changed terminal emulators to Kitty and now everything is snappy.

This. There isn't much more to take away from the paper. As an aside, there seems to be some sort of snowball effect that might confound a naive interpretation of the role of intelligence. For example, getting a high SAT score (and AP

There is a learning method that hasn't been mentioned in this thread. Namely, a middle ground between pure cobbling and pure theory. In addition, you have to find a method that is optimal to you. For myself, that's a feedback loop

There could be some semantic issues here. It would seem that a non-trivial number of people have a connection where the actual speed differs a decent amount from the stated/expected. This has certainly been my case after living in L.A.

Yeah, I don't like the butterfly keys, but the touchbar seems neutral to me. I've never accidentally hit the touchbar while typing. And while it has always seemed a bit gimmicky, I do appreciate some of the controls (sound, bright

Agreed. Though I will say, it's still shocking to see. Not that cascading layoffs, furloughs, internship cancellations, and wage/salary reductions are unexpected right now. Shocking in how surreal it all feels. My gf and I have a

VC theses are almost always just pattern matching. Moreover, they aren't the first to ever put forward that thesis. Is it a good thesis? What's your criteria? By any scientific criteria, of course, the thesis is asinine. However,

Central to their reasoning is the thesis that every ~15 years there is a breakthrough in computing (PCs in ~'78, the Web in ~'93, Smartphones in ~'07). This thesis is laid out on their site. So, the hedge seems to concern inv

Agreed. This is something that seems to go over-looked. It didn't take one, or even five, years to get someone like Trump in office. This was the result of many decades of significant economic and societal restructuring.

I agree that there seems to be deep economic rot somewhere, but I'm not sure Snap and Uber are particularly near the center. I haven't looked at their 10-Ks in awhile, but aren't at least one of them cash flow positive alread

Not that I know of. It was slick because of how high quality the designs, and colors, etc for each slide were. Most importantly, though, it was the best 'story-telling' I've seen in a presentation.
