So you are saying that the exceptions to free speech that you agree with are fine, but that the exceptions other people/cultures have chosen and that you disagree with are a 'slippery slope'.

I'm talking about the case in Germany. Why are you linking to articles that start with the words "In The US"? This is the kind of blind defence of Uber that gives the entire tech sector a bad name.

For the interactive general purpose data munging and quick execution of simple commands that the shell is best at, I really don't know what a better system would look like. It seems like a really hard problem. Anything purely text base

Text isn't the universal interface in Unix, byte streams are. You can quite happily send non-textual control characters and such around in Unix, or pipe data containing NULLs from one process to another. 'Text' is a very sedu

I don't see how that would be possible unless Slack has a full list of their customers available somewhere. Note that elsewhere in this thread you can see that it was reported to Slack, but they responded saying it wasn't a bug.

On the economy UKIP are certainly right wing. They supported a flat tax for gods sake. More broadly their entire reason for existing is to promote deregulation of all kinds (financial, environmental, health and safety etc).

No single country has yet found a safe, clean and cost-effective solution for coal waste disposal either. If you are going to get into the externalities of nuclear power, then you have to do the same for other technologies.

The FSF are quite explicit about the fact that they don't really care about code quality. Their recent statements about shellshock are just the most recent examples of that. GNU is primarily a political project, not a software project.
