Considering this is a developer conference, and you need to have a Mac to develop iPhone or OS X apps, it seems somewhat fair to expect someone wanting to watch to be on a Mac.

Maps are fine, searching still isn't as good as google. However, since google maps is available as a separate app now, that is better than iOS5 maps, there's no reason to not upgrade.

None of the pages on your site appear to be scrollable on the desktop? It looks like you have an overflow:hidden attached to body, which will prevent anyone from being able to scroll down if their browser is not tall enough.

Their normal site has become so difficult to navigate, logo overhanging on videos, slow javascript/rendering, etc. I've visited the basic tumblr site much more than I would normally visit their site.

I'm sure it will work great, until they alter their page layout ever so slightly. Change an id here or there. Then you have to scramble to fix for the new layout while your 'API' is down.

If you want to limit yourself to a 500-700 machine, then do that. You can buy used macs, refurb macs, mac minis, etc. There is no requirement to spend 1200 on a mac to begin development. There is no requirement to get a DUNS number to devel

If the average price of hardware hasn't gone up, which it hasn't, then they have cut costs for consumers. Regardless of where they handle the accounting on their end, cost of ownership has gone down.

Looks good, but the textured background definitely doesn't help readability. The lighter grey on the visited text is fairly difficult to read against it.

The big changes Tim Cook is going to make are adding flash to iOS and Blu-Ray to Mac? Are you kidding me? Maybe 3 years ago those would have been big, but both platforms are now getting along just fine without them.
