The modern equivalent is still Americans trying and failing to be fashionable by aping world trends 5 years after they've died.

It's amazing how, to this day, American fashion is still largely off the pulse and out of step with the world. http://i0.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/014/711/138...

Seems like some comments are missing the forest for the trees. The reason they're common is that it's possible to create all programs with a tiny subset of instructions. And I don't think LEAs are common due to the cool trick

You don't have to find it funny. That doesn't make it not a joke.

So just to be clear, you have zero evidence to back up your assertion.

So in the maintenance phases were you lifting, and were you pushing lifts? That's pretty scary that you can lose weight so quickly during a slack fitness period.

The message you were referring to was talking about code for copying strings. If you wanted an instruction to copy lots of strings, the CPU would need to know what a character is (which could be 7 bits, 8 bits, 16 or 32), what a string is,

Oh of course yeah. I was picturing it as a separate AND when it could be bunged in with the ANDs for individual register selects and write/load enables and so on also. Cool, thanks.

Nice site. This would've been very helpful to me in college when I was trying to get an intuitive grasp of Gaussian blurs and so on via the formulas.

You still have to then AND the output of that decoder with the data lines which go to the registers right? OP's friend just mentioned 1 extra gate in the data path, and I presume this would be it.

You're implying that OP's friend thinks an extra gate would require another clock cycle or something? He's just talking about propagation delay which is obviously increased with extra logic on the bus (in the multiplexor, or

There's nothing dishonest about it. It's a loss because these are explicit investments which haven't produced any earnings. When they produce any sort of revenue then their financial statements (and media reports of the finan

It's an accounting loss. Their revenue is less than their costs. Nobody gauges the state of a company by just looking at one line on an income statement though.

Luckily a company full of people like you will also need to have experienced marketing and legal staff, who will know that it would be unwise to laugh off such user issues. Your marketing team doesn't need to be diverse to know this.

Yeah, it's made-up bullshit which sounds like it makes sense. Enforced diversity is only a thing in the past few years, so you only have to think of....almost any mass-market product from before then to know it's untrue. It'

It's bizarre that a company seems to be struggling to administer diversity of staff, without being certain of its own medium-term success. There's no point in having your quota of "people of colour", as the article puts

Well you'd measure 'value addition' in revenue, and Income per Employee is already a metric used, but it still wouldn't extend beyond the bounds of your own company, as an entity in a wider supply chain/network.
