What about insurance brokers? Or travel brokers? They don't have stock. Intermediaries (sort of) inherently create quality control via having a better perspective on the market than any single supplier can, and through pressuring indiv

Thanks. You use the word 'field' 54 times and 'risk' 33 times in the article but never explain what you mean by them. I found this confusing. E.g. at one point you say that 'reducing extinction risk' is a field

Ok but what makes a certain meme have enough power that it then has fecundity/fidelity? There must be a resonance between powerful memes and 'human nature' or else they surely wouldn't propagate (e.g. fear of death, in t

The speed at which the media have rounded against this meme is breathtaking. Are some memes inherently powerful and just need to be controlled? Why are they powerful? How much longer can 30 year old boomers be let sip Monsters outdoors? It&

Too many people write an abstract as if it's a preamble to the paper. If a person has to inspect your paper in-depth to see what results you got, reconsider your abstract.

The general public don't have a clue what Equifax is and don't know about the hack. Your Grandparent's sexting convos being put online might grab the public's attention a little more.

As I understand it, this wasn't just a simple/typical security breach. The hackers had access to people's accounts and for who knows how long. 50 million people's private conversations and pictures being made public, for

This may be nice in a sunny seaside tourist city, but any pedestrianised towns I've been to in the UK are barren, dull, and frankly scary once the sun starts to set.

I believe there's a provisional date for a ban by 2030. My opinion is that if EV is great then this ban shouldn't be needed, but nevertheless, it seems like a reasonably fair (if tight) deadline.
