I agree, now I just use uv and forget about it. It does use up a fair bit of disk, but disk is cheap and the bootstrapping time reduction makes working with python a pleasure again

I've been following Andrew Kelley's writing and zig is probably next on the list for me (previously would have been rust). The story from C to Zig and the ease of cross compilation makes it really tempting. I haven't looked i

It's interesting that this is framed in the context of 'foul play' - I wouldn't be surprised if we find out that even in regular play there's often enough head impact to be concerning. I'm actually surprised th

I've come to the opinion now that if something in sales doesn't make sense, you're probably not the target market. Sure _I_ don't want to have a demo with no price guarantees, but I'm not the target market - big com

I'm not sure I understand your point, maybe we're talking at cross purposes? In the case of chopping off a thief's hand I see the _desire_ to steal as the moral failing. Preventing the physical theft in that case doesn't

If it is a moral failing, how can a pill resolve it? Does the pill put morals back in the user? While I agree that alcohol abuse is bad (and might make people do bad things, and hurts people around them etc), I'm not sure if the moral

The thing that I find surprising about this is that it seems so innocuous. Duplicate keys in an object? Meh just take the first or the last or something, no big deal, I'm sure whatever library I'm using will handle it
