I agree that Waymo video was probably a poor decision. He does say that the video is sponsored but it just comes off a bit odd. It's not uncommon that youtubers are paid either in money or access - Destin for example gets access to mil

I think I remember he did a video explaining that changing the title and thumbnail gives a significant bump in views so that a video can become evergreen. CGP Grey mentioned doing this and hitting 1B total views years earlier than he expect

I love this, but I wonder what your plan is to prevent denial-of-service against, for example, government services?

One of the youtubers [0] I follow uses a Delaunay triangulation pattern on points that I _think_ are doing a random walk as their intro screen. There's something very satisfying about this pattern. I'm not sure how the choice of c

I was wondering how it would do arbitrary-sized kernels without dynamic allocation (my guess was that it would use the input/output buffer as a temporary storage). The answer is that there's a _slight_ asterix to the 'zero-al

Oof that's a near miss. That's the sort of hard-to-find issue that keeps me up at night. Although maybe these days some ai tool would be able to pick them up

While in general I'd agree, this isn't necessarily just for bash scripts. It could just wrap the execution of another program allowing higher-level logic to handle concurrency and the low-level program to do it's one-at-a-tim

This was my first thought and I suppose flock(1) could be used to recreate a lot of this. But it does come with some other quality-of-life improvements like being able to list all currently-used locks, having a lock holdable by N processes

Just this morning I was wondering about using an in-process redis instance for either mocking for unit/integration test and also just as a convenient logical boundary. It looks like this would fit the bill, either with an in-memory sql

There's a big range of 'embedded' from CR2032-powered low-profile devices up to mains-powered logging devices with no size constraints. I agree in the first case you're unlikely to want GC but in the latter case it proba
