Isn't this something that the http server handles? I am not in web development except for basic php and cgi scripts. Are people actually writing web app code to dictate what http code comes back on each request?

Well there's TV networks like PBS and I think Qubo that have limited advertising. Also, why stop at banning advertising to children when even a large percentage of adults have impressionable minds :).

C'mon.. you have to start somewhere. Do you honestly think that when you reverse engineer a product you end up with a 100% compatible clone on the first release/iteration. Give it some time. There's no reason to be so negative.

This is absolutely untrue. Look at how libpng handles exceptions. It uses setjmp. Look at how FreeTDS handles errors. It allows you to define a function pointer to handle error cases. Yes you can throw return codes down through each layer

Before my university transformed into a Java school it was an Ada school. From what I heard the compilers for Ada in the early 90s were extremely slow.

Does anyone else see ISPs putting caps on bandwidth restrictions in the future and thus hampering Netflix (and other streaming companies) effors? I thought some residential internet plans already have caps in place.

iOS does not provide tools for programmers. At least not an Objective-C compiler. I don't think any modern OS comes with a built in C compiler though. Apple has provided these things for iOS

I made a comment earlier about the Yahoo mail interface as well and I agree with you that the new interface is too much. I think they still let you use the old interface but eventually they will force everyone to switch permanently.

Sadly, even companies that create .net crud apps only want the rockstar programmers. Or at least that's the way it seems in Los Angeles. I'm speaking from experience although perhaps I'm just a mediocre software developer.

The main page states that the compiler IL2CPU compiles IL to x86 code utilizing NASM. So IL2CPU translates c# code into x86 assembler? Why not translate c# code into C and then use gcc (rather than nasm) to build native binaries? That way

I know you aren't the creator of those VMs but, any idea why they are so big? What's weird is that there's a jump from 8.4 GB to 13 GB on Windows 7. What is on the IE9 vhd that isn't on the IE8 vhd? Edit: Nevermind, from the official link
