I'm deeply confused at your response. 310 is still 1.3%, which is both a low number and percentage. Especially when compared with the larger 7.8% of other UK universities as OP stated. Most UK universities are heavily selected. Indeed,

I don't have the feature to downvote you, but it I did then I would. Here's why: what is an "objective fact"? Are those statements you made relevant to the death of George Floyd? The answer is no. He was a criminal who m

In what way is the BBC free? You still need a TV licence to view it live or via iPlayer, which has an annual cost of about £100 if I recall correctly.

Graduate typically means bachelor, though masters may apply. PhDs typically walk into senior roles depending on what they did for their thesis and what types of code they developed.

Why is that so? What are some examples that our grandchildren will be appalled at? Perhaps the type of energy we consume (crude oil) or the type of food we eat (fast food) or the lack of sleep we get? I'd love to know your thoughts.

The challenge with such recommendations is that the reader must be able to understand which medicine can be safely skipped. I do not believe most people can make this choice safely. For many conditions, such as arthritis, taking daily medic

Why not just use your development machine for development? Also, why not use a remote server for deployment, testing, and building docker images? Most roles I have had offer such services (remote servers) as part of their costing so wouldn&

Yes, but cancer is not a solved problem, and so people will get it and eventually die. Also, who cares if people live 40+ years? Those with cancer statistically don't, yet drugs can increase life expectancy. That's the point. An e

Yes, but the OP asked if people are reading specific commits in a PR. The answer for me at last is no. Because the history in a PR should not matter but only the final commit. That's why we choose to squash commits in my current role.

That's a fair point and thanks for raising it. Diverse audience was just one example I had thought of at the time of writing. I agree that language shouldn't necessarily be "dumbed down" but equally, overly complex words

Have you experienced spammers or your website or is this preemptive? Also, couldn't you generate a random six digit number and ask a user to write it as a workaround for using Google? Or use a self-hosted service?

Why not just write hateful or awful instead of odious? I'm always curious why people choose uncommon words, particularly when writing online where the audience is diverse.

A reason others may refer to conspiracy theory supporters as "crackpots" could be attributed to the fact that there's now so many wild theories out there (UFOs, aliens, 9/11 inside job, etc). So if you support a few, the

Thanks for the link and a good read. While this is possible, this is not something I would say most pigeon racers would do in practice. In this way, perhaps a small portion are giving a bad name to the rest?

I should comment that I have now watched the PETA video. The intro frame is a standard mechanism for releasing pigeons during a race. It is true that some pigeons do not make it home. That's not to say that they have died, but perhaps

Pigeons fly home for food and water, not for their "mates". As I commented above, if you find a racing pigeon there are websites where you can input the ID and get the club name that the owner belongs to.

For future reference and other readers, the rings around its leg have an ID written on it that you can use to lookup the pigeon owner online. Likewise, the ring likely had an RFID chip that has the ID, gender (of the pigeon: cock/hen),
