Yeah, the psychology of that is fascinating. I don't give the bureaucrats credit for doing it for that reason though. I think they did it because they wanted the cash flow earlier. Nonetheless, it does a wonderful job at making people

Don't cryptocurrencies break that model? They are financial assets in the economy that are not created or presently controlled by governments.
