Start by taking the rest of the day off. Go home sick if you have to and regroup. Don't quit while you are angry/upset. If you still feel like you want to leave write a resignation letter tonight and do it in the morning or after a few days

Yeah, jade pretty much rocks. (I'm a fan of haml too) The nodejs ecosystem is maturing a whole lot. Express+jade=win: http://expressjs.com

This is too bad. I had not had time to stop by there for about a month but it's a really great place and if you live in or near SF you should check it out. I've signed up for a monthly donation. Hopefully others will follow and Noisebridge

It's pretty simple. People like a deal and direct marketing works really well. All they have from me is my city and an email address. They have sent me exactly one email a day for a week since I signed up because a friend of mine sent me a

Ditto for ruby: http://nokogiri.org Both a little bit of a pain to build on OSX since it ships without the required version of libxml. Not too bad though.

Agreed. I have a bookshelf full of 60+ dollar tech books full of obsolete stuff. 30 bucks is a reasonable price for a tech book and one I'll gladly pay. (Also, +1 on the C book)

Do you want to live in the Bay Area/SF? If so email me - I might have some contacts for you if you are interested in working for a consulting firm. 36K is low and their terms are probably not legal in most states.
