My strong suggestion would be to make it free and charge 99 cents for a premium upgrade of some sorts and also give people a way to pay more if they want to (consumables). Two weeks is perfectly reasonable for an experianced iOS dev to get

Valve comes to mind. Game makers were already doing this kind of centrailzed distribution long before it went mainstream but it was clear this would be the direction as broadband began to pick up around 2002-2003 as comcast and other cable

From the end of the article: "But overall, it doesn't feel like a must-have upgrade to me." Except that Apple does not really fix many bugs in previous version of their software unless they are security issues or really huge problems that a

Safari is not going anywhere and I don't think it's been overlooked in the upcoming OSX release. You will see more and parts of OSX pulled out, stuck in the app store, and their release cycles decoupled form that of the core os.

See https://github.com/gcv/appengine-magic to help get Clojure working on App Engine. It's quite nice and the docs are pretty complete.

Here is the thing, you can't just do one mobile app. You need to do 10, 20 or more. Grind it out at the low stakes tables until you have the capital (aka app install base, know how and cash) to play at the higher stakes tables. Install base

From the pricing FAQ it looks like $99 for 4 instances is the minimum and then additional pro instances are 40 bucks each a month after that. https://www.dotcloud.com/pricing/pricing-faq/ EDIT: Also, +1 for a password reset feature to fir

I think there is a lot of money to be made by startups that take on some of those uninteresting banking/financial domains - look for one of them. Also, take a look at Advent Software [1] if you are at all interested in moving to San Francis

I think this will be useful for a lot of developers of iPhone/Adroid apps. Many don't have the know how (or time) to develop, run and maintain backend systems and it pushes the development cost way way up for clients and complicates our own
