I think there is a lot of money to be made by startups that take on some of those uninteresting banking/financial domains - look for one of them. Also, take a look at Advent Software [1] if you are at all interested in moving to San Francisco. They are not a startup but they have some things going for them and they use .Net pretty extensively these days.
