We just switched to this kind of unlimited PTO policy here at VMware. It remains to be seen how it works out but I'm optimistic.

I hope it's a good talk as well however I have heard from a couple people I know well that minted is kind of a meat grinder in terms of turnover and not a very fun place to work and also not awesome from the designer side either. I understa

If "try and get as much return as you can" is the only input to the decision we are likely not investing but speculating and there is a difference. So if we are speculating here then I think I'd take those three envelopes to Vegas and split

I'm pretty sure my employer does not just do "glorified web development" though I'd suggest you lose the attitude when you get here. The glorified web programmers have us surrounded and there are plenty of good ones ;-) http://jobs.vmware.

50k to invest or speculate with? If you lost all 50k tomorrow would that be ok with you? How would it make you feel if you lost 25pct? When do you think you will need the proceeds from your 50k if there are any?

I have to say I very much prefer [myArray count] to myArray.count since I think of it as a method instead of a property though I agree using dot syntax for synthesized class properties is preferable.

I'm a programmer today because of my mother (Who volunteered in my Elementary school's computer lab) and because of the articles I read by Dave Winer, Joel Spolsky and Philip Greenspun in the late 90s and early 2000. If you have not poked a

Two weeks is plenty of time for a novice iOS developer with a bit of programming experience to publish tic-tac-toe. I think struggling to learn the existing well used tools would be the best use of his two weeks. Try something outside the n

Just go with Cocos2d. There is certainly not a dearth of Tic-Tac-Toe games in the app store however when I was first learning iOS development I built one of these for a client and it did not take much longer than the two weeks you describe.

It's a fine little control but for a project of any size at all I feel like you are going to get much more bang for your buck time wise by simply building up your own nice UI lib for easy skinning etc vs managing n+1 external dependencies l
