"Reduced Tracking" is partly the misnomer though. It's not less tracking, right? It's just a temporary separate browsing session with history turned off. The only thing that makes it less tracking is that it might not be

I don’t think it’s out of line. Oftentimes comments like this do come with jabs at the language being discussed, but this one was pleasantly free of snark. It makes me more curious about D.

Yeah, it would be nice to have some other options besides full-on user accounts. One approach could be to have an expiring token where the post can be shared and accessed for a certain number of days before the token/URL is invalid.

I think a repairability label is less likely to get bucketed into yes or no. A score might be manipulated or skewed. That said, something like a nutrition or privacy label might be a better fit. For example, if something has a battery, can

The problem with web-based software subscriptions like this is that you don't really have any option to fall back to a perpetual license with the version you're at. It's ok for shorter term use cases like specific projects, b

No, there's not really any optimization. It's more of a bundling convenience. It still includes V8.

The files are big now. ~30 MB. Size was not really a goal for the first pass of the feature.

That's why you actually have to validate at the edge. TypeScript doesn't really change that fact. It only makes the decision of how you handle it explicit.

This may have to do with Babel compiling typescript. It might run the type-checking separately and compile regardless of if it passes.

Next.js is more opinionated, has more features, and provides server-side rendering. You might choose one or the other for different use cases.

IIRC they were the ones who created mandrill but after some time they decided to stop investing in it (because it wasn’t aligned with their goals, or something along those lines). Rather than completely shutting it down, they left it online

I’ve had frustration with the warts you describe. Have you tried Godot? Any idea if it’s any better in those regards?

I would guess that most workloads have some sort of slow time when it’s appropriate to schedule backups. Wouldn’t having backups rotate through the day potentially cause slowness during a more active time for users?

My concern isn’t over the current price. The larger investment is my time. If I spend hours and hours learning software and creating things with that software, I don’t want to risk it being crippled or the price being raised exorbitantly. I

All that works well TypeScript as well. The difference is that Kotlin only really works well in IntelliJ. TypeScript works well in both WebStorm/IntelliJ and VS Code.

A significant consideration here is SEO and crawlability. Rendering the page server-side will serve a page with content even without JavaScript running on the client, yet for clients that do have JavaScript they still get the enhancements o

Some posts not might make sense without the image as opposed to a post that’d not intended to have an image. Also, there’s an argument to be made for emojis adding tone, albeit lazily. Grayscale sounds like an interesting middle ground.

Yeah, you’d almost need some way to genetically price this. You’d almost want websites to opt into it. You can either accept the $x/request price or not participate in the program. Though, I guess at that point you might as well just s

Yeah, a hard part of this is that it depends on the efficiency of the implementation by the website creators/maintainers. At least at that point you’re on the same side. You’re both trying to be fair and you’re both trying to help the
