The cs101 is faster (and smaller), you can try yourself with gcc.

I don't see the so called "elegant" solution any special at all, but if the level 1 programmer in your org needs more time to understand, and maybe making bugs or mistakes, coz of not fully understand the code, than it's

Pointless and bad article. I compiled the presented code out curiosity on arm gcc 8.2 on godbolt.org with -O3 op and the results are: (the original remove is even faster then the so called elegant or the elegant with inline) remove_cs1

On all of this type of computation the real bottleneck is memory, size and bandwidth. You have to read and write back the data, you just simply can not perform faster than your memory bandwidth. ex If you have 2GB model ( 1G float16 ), whic

Lock-Free programming is essential in high performance networking (10G+ network connections) and data communications. Most of the implementation are using ringbuffers. There can be multiple producer consumer implementation as well. But it&#

From the programmers point of view only the working registers are really important, other registers are just OS related (MSR), some are really important, but the internal representation may be total different. Like a mode switch bit in a CR

More interesting, that around 2000 the top 5 was Microsoft, GE, Cisco, Intel, Walmart. Nothing last forever.

I checked this geekbenchmark with our several different computers on hand, and I can confirm that it's total useless measurements for real world applications or performance.

I asked about GPU workloads the bandwidths are 394.2 GB/s > 68.2 GB/s (5.78 times) And even the raw GPU processing power AMD Radeon Pro 5600M is 5.274 TFLOPS vs M1 as Apple rated 2.6 TFLOPS It's a downgrade in GPU proces

Can somebody explain how is M1 going to work on larger GPU tasks (rendering, encoding etc) with it's memory bandwidth M1 total memory bandwidth is 68.2 GB/s (128 bit LPDDR4x-4267) AMD Radeon Pro 5600m memory bandwidth is 394.2 GB

The article brings up some good points, but there are several misconception. You can't compare normal user program execution with operating system kernel code execution. Total different beasts. There are reasons, that most operating sy

Nice article, but there are several issues with the older ARM MMU concept, and as some Linux distros does not support x86 32 bit anymore, I think we should move on, and forget about the classic ARM MMU. In our OS Threos ( https://

Embedded systems are bare metal. There are tons of usage. Bare metal can be anything from a 8bit microcontroller to multicore Ghz system. Every modern RF modem has a cpu, and uses some kind of unikernel or rtos, if you have smartphone You

At least one or two order of magnitude more systems are using unikernels or rtos rather than a full-blown os. You can write a small scheduler even for a small 8bit microcontrollers (avr). The main purpose of the unikernels or small rtos ar
