What happens if we get to the stage of being able to simulate every chemical and electrical reaction in a human brain, is doing this torture or wrong?

TikTok would be a good purchase for them I'd say. They certainly are not competing. It would be interesting if they also managed to do ads on TikTok in a user privacy focused way.

I think it’s always the problem with a closed system, there’s no way for some better decision making to happen. The very idea that obfuscation of maps will help China be more secure or competitive is absolutely absurd.

I’m so impressed with the FTC lately, here is an excellent interview Jon Stewart did with the FTC chair Lina Khan: https://youtu.be/oaDTiWaYfcM I did joke I’m really surprised the vested interests selected someone competent

I was hoping it would be voice transfer so the voice actor would give all the intonation and emotion and the AI would take that and make it sound like the author. Reading text with AI is getting better but yes it’ll be worse for a long time

I really can’t wait until voice cloning means we get a version of audiobooks read in the author’s voice. Of course it will never be quite as good as them reading it themselves but I think the author’s voice adds something that voice actors

If you need mathematical performance and parallel computing (SIMD or matrix multiplication) it might be worth using the NX library which is basically the elixir equivalent of numpy. Otherwise you could probably write maths stuff in rustler

The scaling story in Elixir is so nice, I just implemented eventual consistency for calculating average ratings on a Class/Instructor level and it was 20 lines of code in a GenServer that can be tested and is super clear how it works.

I don't think many people know how amazing Elixir has become at machine learning. If you want to learn more I can't recommend Seam Moriarity's book Machine Learning in Elixir enough. Concepts are explained in extremely straig

It’s funny, this is the sort of harshness and absolute certainty Jen would have come out with. Nothing is certain but my opinion given the outcome is that it definitely did not help.

Why not just use Docker and have a different testing database? Elixir does this, and the testing framework wraps each test into a transaction that is rolled back for isolation. Be interesting to know the advantages of this approach!
