I don't think there's any shame to discussing this in public and I don't think any less of RWW or Dana for inadvertently sparking it. It affirms what the HN community values and let's "outsiders" know what expectations are. This isn't a wit

I suspect that if someone were to do this and the content was crass - which it presumably is or they'd post it themselves - it would disappear. Regardless, I think this behaviour should be actively discouraged by naming the parties involved

The article somewhat implies that running TRIM from Windows 7 on a dual-boot (with OS X) system is useful - wouldn't that not be the case though since Windows 7 is not going to know what blocks are in use on the HFS+ partitions?

I'd deploy this more if the copy weren't aimed solely at Australians; which it shouldn't be as globalisation means if you're not an Australian, Australia is just a test-case for wherever you happen to be.

Underscores have been allowed in domain names for quite some time. DNS based Service Discovery even requires their use. EDIT: If I'm interpreting the specs correctly, underscores are fine in a domain name but not in a hostname.

Twitter withdrew their SMS service in Australia quite some time ago. Both incoming SMS and calls are free in Australia.

I understand your sentiment but I think your criticism is a little off-base given this article concerns a startup that's charging for a service and appears to have the beginnings of a sales pipeline in place. No it's not going to be the nex

That doesn't jive with my experiences with EveryDNS. Only recently based on a random tweet (not directed at him) David contacted me offering to bulk change the master for a stack of zones.

I searched for Bangkok Thailand and found the content returned very familiar - it'd come solely from http://wikipedia.org/ and http://wikitravel.org/ . The FAQ confirms that's what the site does. I won't try it again.

Make sure you can really quantify the benefits of phone support as it could be quite a heavy time and dollar sink if you're not careful. Personally I'd exhaust every other avenue - don't forget traditional things like welcome booklets and D

Seems to me as an ignoramus to these goings on that part of the impediment to progress is ambiguously named forks of the spec. For instance MarkdownSharp on the face of it isn't just a reimplementation of Markdown in C#, it's a fork of it.

I think this is a pretty good indication of where Australia is at - welcome to the nanny-nation. What really grates me about this is the supporters always seem to fall back on saying it protects children. I find this absurd - it amounts to
