What's wrong with a business having a revenue model? It does not follow that because someone thinks a business has chosen a bad revenue model, that person thinks that any business having a revenue model is bad. Please don't write dross su

Seems it's just due to it being a young project: BossDB is a database abstraction layer used for querying and updating the database. Currently only Tokyo Tyrant is supported, but other drivers will be added in the future. http://www.chic

If you think having two DNS providers is a hassle then you are probably doing it wrong — if you setup a hidden primary configuration then adding an additional secondary is just a matter of giving the new provider your zone name and IP addre

My interest derives mainly from being a bootstrapped startup and from being in a tangentially related field (DNS) but I'll keep this in mind for a time when I've got more breathing room — thanks for your insight.

The route mentioned in the video has 30 stops over a distance of ~2200 km so it's unlikely there'd be much congestion. Stops here in Australia are even sparser over those sorts of distances so it'd work quite well here too.

I'm in the category of startups with low capital which is why I asked. In spite of it being a win/win for both parties it doesn't seem to be a common occurrence — as a domainer (for want of a better description), would you say my perception

This is a demo of what's at the bleeding edge. To complain that it's not implemented across all browsers with graceful degradation is to be frank, silly.

It's a tech demo designed for Chrome — a pretty reasonable compromise given it's supposed to show what's coming up in browsers and requires Chrome be invoked with various command line flags to demo all the features.

Have you ever considered leasing domains (with an option to buy) out of your portfolio?

I want something less complicated than that. I want to push the Scan button, open my web browser, select the scanner from it's list of Bonjour (aka DNS-SD) discovered web services and then browse, save and delete scans from it's web interfa

I tend to use Carbon Emacs and Plainview (webkit based browser) in their fullscreen modes when knocking out code. Beyond that, just a small gang of shell scripts and aliases alongside the usual shell tools.

It could — I'm doing something kind of similar with a DNS service I'm building. It has an HTTP interface which amongst other things exposes DNS-SD services (which include host, protocol, port and service-specific key-value pairs).

Record caching is intrinsic to DNS. Negative cache times being ignored is not usual in my experience; but then when you're at Wikipedia's scale minority cases are large enough that they are worth compensating for.

From my understanding of the use of TaoBao and Baidu in comparison to eBay and Google, void is a description of what western companies occupy in the Chinese marketplace — not what would be left by their leaving.

I'd agree if it were still the mid 90s but it's 2010 — Apple Computer Inc are now Apple Inc, a major OS X release has been stunted by a phone and an update of their laptops has been pushed aside for the release of a tablet. Apple are a hard

Somewhat counterintuitively in low-bandwidth environments a desktop in the cloud can be quite useful. Last year I was stuck on a very spotty 3G connection for several weeks and found it significantly snappier to connect to an NX desktop I h
