I disagree with the education claims. This article is mostly talking about engineers in the computer science/engineering field. Tangent: I feel like those on work visas in the comments here are already outside of the norm that I receiv

I believe the base account where you can choose a username and add your rss feed is free. I've never paid, but it shows up that there are options to pay $2 for cross posting, $5 for a hosted micro blog, or $10 for a hosted microblog +

No, it's more like rss based twitter. Any blog can become micro.blog compatible, and technically anyone could build a competitor to micro.blog that allows users to register their feeds.

Thank you for putting this out there. I opened the nook app after reading this and promptly downloaded some old books, I then came back and read the comments to understand what the story was actually about. I had never actually used the web
