Thanks for the response. I fully get why you're doing it and appreciate the options to turn them off. With that said, it's really just a band-aid to appease the vocal opponents. My mental model of sharing (and I'd bet it's shared by many ot

The UI is phenomenal, the overemphasis on Facebook sharing (not login) annoyed me though. I really, really don't want you auto-posting what I'm listening to/doing to Facebook. Spotify & Songza do it and it drives me insane. It's actuall

To take this to the next level, I vote for crowd-funding at the end of it all. I'd put $20 behind my favourite startup from the class and cheer them on. Almost like fantasy sports, but for startups.

From a user's standpoint, I think you're focusing too much on trying to get me to register. I won't even get to the demo if it requires me to register. I get it from your perspective, you want to get their info so you can follow up, etc. It

It took me a long time to figure out what it actually is. Similar to what other commenters have mentioned, the three things I'd recommend focusing on are: 1) Stupidly simple messaging. To do this, talk to the people that are already using i

Quick bit of feedback, make the titles on your links/books/etc clickable. It wasn't obvious at the beginning that you wanted me to click the image instead of the title. Everyone has their preference, I just prefer to click titles instead of

The big difference between Rocket & BufferBox/Amazon is the implementation of the idea. Rocket doesn't just take an awesome idea and bring it home, they CLONE the initial product, usually copying layout and look & feel. It's this cl

Would be simple to code, but a marketplace is definitely not a weekend project. Getting enough supply-side information would be the big challenge.

Interesting take, I'll provide a bit of extra clarification. All good points to raise though. "The way that your article reads comes off as having a point to prove because you were rejected." In order to prove a point, my understanding is t

I think there's two major components to this: 1) Writing about your failures sucks. My first startup got to 6 figure revenue within 18 months, but we really struggled to grow past that. I could write a full debrief on why we failed, but it'

I got an interview email at 10:01pm EST in the past. It came through Mailgun so everyone that gets chosen will probably get that email at the same time.

Agreed. I love bootstrap's structure and formatting, but am hesitant to use it anymore since it gives off a "weekend side-project" vibe instead of "serious company". Themes like these that change the appearance without changing the structur

But the big difference is the traditional investment model requires fewer backers. While by no means is raising investment an easy process, first time entrepreneurs have a better chance since they have to sell fewer people on it.

Agreed. Not to say there isn't a problem with Yelp's practices (as have been documented elsewhere), but this article does not make a good case against them. From an algorithmic standpoint, filtering out reviews from new users makes sense. O
