"pronoun czar" is the most apt description of activist devrels I've ever come across. the person's twitter feed speaks to that, in addition of the pinned tweet.

The lack of closing tags is giving me severe anxiety. I know it's valid non-xml syntax but all the hairs on my neck are at attention.

We can't possibly know that solely based on (what other comments have rightly pointed out) a vague, anon petition lacking nuance or details. This could just as well be a very small, vocal minority. We have no way of knowing without mor

Nooooooo. I so much prefer Atom over VSCode. I've read the spin, but this smells like Microsoft finally doing what we all predicted - killing off the competing product.

For every voice sample that Unreal offers on the front page comparison, I found that the Unreal voice mashed up words (or tried to speak syllables too quickly), most noticeably on "synthesis." I did notice some more natural-like p

maybe someone can help me understand this: why does an investor think that a small business can grow to $1mil ARR on a $100k investment? that would almost certainly mean instant success or a quick death, no? If the author is targeting the &

I get your point. Is that an excuse for HN to give into the same? If I wanted outrage and ranting on personalities, there's a lot of other places I could go for that. I came here a few years back because it was a less hostile, more obj

You are assuming that people with exceptional talent want to live in HCoL areas. Migration data over the last two years suggests that your opinion has holes.

Nonsense. This is FUD in my estimation. I've work for remote companies who don't pay regionally since 2010. None of them have gone out of business, none of them have been bankrupted by paying people the market rate.

Almost all of my favorite follows on Twitter have moved into private group chats. What they post publicly is filtered and a mere glimpse of the group chats.

Twitter is low-effort outrage. Before that space existed, people just sighed and went about their day. If it's more difficult or higher-effort to express or dip into outrage, people will bow out.

Lerna is one of those "this works great!" or "this is a huge dumpster fire!" solutions. I've seen more broken lerna monorepos than I can count. Recently I've made quite a little side career of fixing lerna mono

I'm always befuddled by why the GraphQL haters have to come out of the woodwork to shit on a new project in the space, rather than just quietly saying to themselves "this isn't for me," and moving onto the next story.

I doubt this will change your mind or even pique your interest, but - Look into how PostGraphile and pg-graphql combine an entire request into a single SQL statement. Something that REST is not well-suited for and requires multiple requests

Another parent mentions the lack of support in GraphJin for cursor pagination. That's something that Graphile does very well.

I dislike working with closed-minded folks for reasons such as this. Where's the danger in exposing GraphQL to a read-only replica containing non-sensitive data?

You seem to have a real issue with Americans in general. It'd be just as wrong to say that all New Zealanders are mocked because of their accent, and they should try not to sound so silly. Do some people in other countries have beef

Fairly certain that ability has been around a few years. I left that comment there for folks who didn't know that was possible, as going the SNS -> SQS -> Lambda route is what is most popular and most written about.
