I dont have a problem with the study or its conclusions, just the parent post I was replying to. >Recreational drugs make you feel good temporarily. That's literally why people do them. The point Im making is this is true for a ton

Im prescribed adderall for ADHD. It is a high. You feel more positive, more productive, more forward looking for a few hours and its back to baseline or worse when you crash. As for impairment, it really depends. If weed removes your anxiet

But a lot of psychatric treatments are just that. Treatment for ADHD for example is giving ampethamines (which btw are chemically no different than a low dose of meth), which have a duration of 3-6 hours and its back to worse than baseline

How do amphetamines treat the source of ADHD? Psychiatry as its practiced has no idea as to what depression even is under the hood. The entire science is based on the patients self reported feelings or the psychatrists feeling of how someon

This point of view makes no sense to me. If you take it and you feel your anxiety is lessened, that's the greatest proof you can ask for. All the psychiatric studies are already based on self assessment. Second, a lot of psychatric tre

There is absolutely no way. Those tasks take 5 mins to do. Itd be done by the time you read the documentation for elvenlabs

I haven't read wikipedia in a long time so I can't answer your question, I am just pointing out that just saying "the facts are correct" is not enough to say there is no bias on wikipedia

Which facts are represented is equally important as being factual though. Brian hit Jim can be a fact. But if you emit "Jim murdered Brians whole family", its a disortation of truth

Yeah I don't know why they didn't figure to have something in between. I find it completely unusable without the flag. Even a --permit-reads would help a lot

Authentication has gotten really annoying on the web. I don't even care if my data gets stolen for most sites. Like HN is just username and pass and I love that. I don't care if someone hacks my HN account. What are they going to

For things Im working on seriously for my work, for sure, I spend time understanding them, and LLMs help with that. I suppose, also having experience Im already prone to asking questions about things I have a suspicion can go wrong But the

Same there is a few things I never learned and don't care to learn and ultimately it has no greater value to learn. Like do I really get anything out of learning another framework or how some particular library does something?

I guess it depends, but infra is also a lot simpler when starting out. It really isnt much harder (easier even?) to setup services on a box or two than managing AWS. Im pretty sure a box like this could run our whole startup, hosting PG, k8

I use them every day to learn things. Theyre alot more than "suggestion engines". They can reason with you, show you examples, tell you how to dig deeper and verify what theyre saying, etc.

I see it as being more personality/interest than impulse control. A curious/interested person would try and get involved and be a part of it, someone uninterested will just say what's the point and get by having the work done
