I worked for Okta for a bit and this was a huge pain. It was mostly a wrapper around MUI, which meant it always lacked behind MUI and every time you need a slightly different functionality they didn’t support yet you had to go through the d

Never had that problem. I run the cables underneath my shirt and hand the earbuds on my shirt when I’m not using them. Super convenient for me

I think cooperatively owned tech orgs are the future. Contribution to open source software will always lag behind private entities as people aren't prone to work for free. Are there any open source projects that are monetized/pay

This is very interesting. Has anyone considered using paths/vectors in 2d/3d space as data structures?

Yeah thats my thought too! What if there was a whole universe inside of an atom? Or on the other hand, we and everything we observe is just a single atom in a greater collection of atoms forming what is table to some other consciousness? I

Is it possible the universe is infinitely complex? i.e, "turtles all the way down?". I find the concept of duality and replication in physics very interesting. Everything seems to have an opposite, with properties such that when t

Nope I’m not. I suppose a lot of it is for work. I was working at Okta actually. Every day. Vpn. Touch biometrics. 2fa. Login to Gmail. Touch biometrics. 2fa. Git pull. 2fa. There’s also the fact that I use my phone, personal desktop, and l

1. I’m not sure what you mean by this. I have an authenticator app on my desktop which I authenticated. Browser checks authentication against this app similar to an authentication app on your phone, except it’s auto provided. I’m sure this

PWAs seems like can do a whole lot. What is it that they can't do these days? I am pretty confused as to why someone would even make a native app for 99% of applications these days when you can make a PWA/Capacitor app that runs o

My interest in no phones is going back to the old days where you’d have to make plans to meet someone at sometime and be there next week with no communication in between, not having ease of access to every bit of information, not relying on

No I am not saying that things don't happen when there is no observer around. I am saying, `what` actually happened is entirely based on perception of mind, and is completely subject to interpretation. To give an analogy, imagine the u

For me I feel like a large part of it is that no one else shares the same excitement that I do. If I share something I think is really cool and everyone is like “I don’t get it”, those thoughts inevitably just murk my brain.

I think this vastly underplays animals intelligence though. There is so much focus on creating human level intelligence, but where is a robot that can learn to navigate the world like a dog or cat can?

Also, I think a large part of "I don't know" is purely the fact that the mind is driven by chemicals. I can't explain for example why I can't focus or why I am tired, or why I no longer feel something that I used to

In the image above, imagine a knight on H3, which covers g1, g5. Neither a bishop, a pawn or rook can help that way. After one move, it can go to f4 where it can add on as a second attacker to the queen on 4 squares. After another move it c
