TensorRT-LLM being open source is a lie, all the important kernels are loaded from cubins.

Interesting, I guess the ones I saw complaining about blowing through hundreds worth of API calls per session were just doing something wrong?

That seems like even better news for the people about to be paid large sums to fix all that stuff because no one else knows how any of it works.

I'm curious how much you paid in the past month for API fees generated by these tools. Or at least what order of magnitude we're talking about.

If no one really becomes an expert anymore, that seems like great news for the people who are already experts. Perhaps people actively desire this.

I absolutely hate the gradient on the progress bar. When a video is full screened I'm no longer able to tell at a glance how far along the progress bar is because the gradient and the grey segment for buffering all fades together. This

To just link this with no context, it really needs an intro that summarizes in one sentence what it actually does. The description currently reads like a bunch of technobabble.

After all these years, Microsoft is finally rolling out win32 app isolation, so maybe we are finally on the good path...

Maybe now we can elect a new government who will actually use their brains. That would be something.

Do you think suggesting this to someone with any other type of addiction (smoking, gambling, heroin, whatever) would do anything?

It is much harder to treat a food addiction than a smoking one. The usual way to do that is to stop smoking entirely and eventually forget about it. You cannot stop eating. Food tastes good. We have infinite food available. The hell are w

What the hell? This seems almost purposefully written to destroy the one industry where ordinary people could get good salaries. It doesn't even make any sense whatsoever, just a straight "fuck you" regulation?

This is a rather depressing graph, what happened in 2022-2024?

I think that's quite different, though. If someone is currently doing paid labor, they indeed can't just quit in most cases, because they depend on the income. But there's no such thing with volunteering to try a new service.

How is it possible to "abuse" volunteer labor? Can't they just... stop volunteering?

I hate it so much... some programs are even worse, they don't take ctrl shift v to get rid of the garbage. I've made it a habit to first paste stuff in a text editor, copy it again, and then paste it into programs like outlook so

That comparison doesn't make sense. If you want 192GB VRAM, then that is the size of 8 4090s, so to make it competitive, the bandwidth also needs to be 8 times higher. Or 8TB/s in this case.

You probably have tens of thousands of unnecessary documents and other files hoarded on your computers, right? This seems like much the same thing to me, it's just digital now.
